We here in San Diego often harp on the lack of respect our Chargers get in the national media. We're a small to midsize market tucked away here on the west coast. We're a town everybody on the East Coast (and the rest of the country, to be honest) loves to come and congest, but not a place that's often noticed for it's sports teams. When we're playing well, of course our stock rises some, but the lack of respect remains. I've heard people complain that the fans here are too, well 'fanatic" for lack of a better word, or obnoxious even. I say if we don't toot our own horns, though, who will. And I don't know that we aren't more critical than anyone else to be honest. I'd say we're far more critical of our Bolts than the national media, who choose instead to merely ignore us. Case in point, both Pat Kirwin and Shannon Sharpe of www.NFL.com made note of the "fact" that no team that trailed at the half in yesterdays games ended up winning. Chargers score at the half? Chargers 10, Browns 12. Final? Chargers 32, Browns 25. Screw you, guys. Thanks for once again proving our point out here.
Update: Kirwin just changed his column. 12:50
Update: Sharpe just changed his column. 12:51 You can tell Shannon's is changed because it was supposed to be his favorite stat of the week that no team had come back, but that seems a lot less exciting now.
