Only Two Hours Away!

Let the 2007 World Series run commence. I know I said I'd put up some of my thoughts on the upcoming baseball season before things got under way, but I lied. Fuck it, though. It's baseball, I could wait three weeks to make predictions and such and what's the difference? 162 games buys a man that sort of lee-way. Is that right? "Lee-way?" I don't think I've ever put that term to print. Is that a term or an actual word? Shit. Anyway, I do have a couple of things to point out from yesterday, though keep in mind that it is only one game in:

1) The highly favored in the West Dodgers got pitched retarded by Ben Sheets and the Brewers yesterday.

2) The always annoyingly yakked about $300 million Cubbies likewise were pitched retarded by Aaron Harang and the Reds.

Just two little things that brought a smile to my face. I won't even bother mentioning the Schilling shelling. Oops!

Here's two more things that bring a smile to my face:

Go Pads!!!

Long time no speak! Will Giles step up this year, or continue to be a fucking economic/batting drain on the Padres. To be determined...

We got two Giles' to deal with this year. I can't begin to imagine what those two will do. Hopefully Gonzales and Cameron can make up for whatever shortcomings they display. Then if Khalil can get the avg. up and Kouzmanoff is the real deal, our pitching should keep us in solid contention all the way. Of course, ask me again in a month or so.

By the way, I couldn't catch the whole game today, but I did manage to see Giles stand there and take pitches like a turd. But then the craziest thing happened and he got ahold of one and even legged it out for a double. Maybe there is hope. Like I said, it's early, butI'm more optimistic than I thought I'd be.

Congrats on 1-0. But like you said, we've got more if's than something with a whole shit ton of if's in it. Whatever shut up.

If Giles Squared don't suck, if Hose Cruz (a.k.a. "The Worst to Ever Put on a Uniform") doesn't suck, and My Favorite Gonzalez and Bionic Face Cameron show up to help Koumanoff become the real deal and Khalil fails to break any veggie sticks in his glove, and the catcher's stay healthy (deep breath) we might be okay here with the old decrepid gout and diabetes infested pitching staff.

That's called optimism folks...

Actually, the Sledgehammer will be a bigger factor than Cruz Jr. Get your facts straight, hater.
