They've always said Pete Carroll wanted absolute power to return to the NFL, but I don't know. USC is all poised on the edge of scandal and the Chargers are a mighty sweet prospect for him to finally make a good impression in the bigs. I don't know for sure that this is the guy I want, but if we're going to go college I'd have to say he is.

Don't Be Surprised.

Safe to say this isn't my first choice. Or second. Or 732nd. I don't like him. I don't like his coaching style, it reeks of arrogance, and his NFL experience is murky at best. Thank you NFL people and front office Charger personnel, but I will pass on Pete Carroll.
I sure hope the chargers go after a coach that is a proven winner, this team is too talented to bring in a first timer. Maybe we can sway a retired guy say...
1. Jimmy Johnson
2. Bill Cowher
Shoot if all else fails I like Maximus idea of Pete Carroll, at least he likes to score 60+ on all the weak teams in the pac-10. I could see the chargers scoring 60 on the donkeys twice a year, man that would be fun!
